Irena Gantar Godina, born in 1950, PhD in History, scientific adviser and assistant professor of Slovenian and South Eastern Europe history up to 1918.
Has published and presented numerous articles on the Slovenian-Slavic relations, Slovenian emigrants in Central and South-Eastern Europe, impacts of Czech, Croatian and Russian politics and culture upon Slovenian intellectuals and artists, their different understandings of Slavic mutuality before 1918. Main publications: T. G. Masaryk in masarykovstvo na Slovenskem 1895-1918 (Ljubljana 1987), Neoslavizem in Slovenci (Ljubljana 1994); the editor of Soočenje mita in realnosti ob prihodu v novo okolje (Ljubljana, 1996), Intelektualci v diaspori (Ljubljana, 1999) and Davorin Matvejevič Hostnik: med Slovenijo in Rusijo (Šmartno pri Litiji, 2004).
