The collaborative project among researchers from ZRC SAZU (Slovenia) and UT at Austin (USA) sets out to account for and analyze in historical and contemporary perspective the migration movements from the People’s Republic of China to the countries of Southeast Europe. It builds on the previous research by both institutions on the political incorporation of Chinese migrants in Eastern and Southeastern Europe as well as on the family and work practices of these in selected countries of the region (e.g., Slovenia, Serbia). The project aims to make several contributions to the scholarship of migration and integration, specifically to the literature on the Chinese migration and integration processes in Southeastern Europe.
