The project is thematically related to the basic project “Slovene Emigrants-Creators: Promotors of Slovene Science and Culture in the New Environment”. The main purpose of the research was to learn the total number and sex ratio of Slovenians living in Serbia in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as determine the population's occupational and social structures. The project scope plans a review of the work of Slovenian cultural workers, priests, journalists/publicists; integration into a new environment. Male and female artists. A presentation of Slovenians who in some way contributed to the development and preservation of Slovenian heritage in Serbia.
One chapter revolves around the Littoral Slovenes’ escape from fascism to Yugoslavia – i.e. to what was then southern Serbia (Povardarje and Vojvodina) – after the First World War. One study in particular has shown an ambiguity and multi-contextuality of certain foods within the selected immigrant (ethnic) community in the Republic of Serbia.
