Postgraduate studies in Migration

 

European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations

International study programme European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations is the result of cooperation between European and African universities, led by the University of Oldenburg (Germany). In the academic year 2011/12, the program was first launched with the support of an elite program for international cooperation and exchange of students and professors in higher education, Erasmus Mundus. The European Commission has recognised the program as a unique, mainly because of the interdisciplinary and intercultural perspective. The programme focuses on human rights, democratic values, the welfare state and labour market, the challenges facing the EU Member States and the wider global world.

Participating universities: University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), University of Oldenburg (Germany), University of Stavanger (Norway), University of South Bohemia (Czech Republic), Ahfad University for Women (Sudan), Mbarara University of Science & Technology (Uganda), University of the Witwatersrand – Wits University (Johannesburg, South Africa).

 

Doctoral program Humanities

The four-year long doctoral program Humanities (Third level), coordinated by the Graduate School of the University of Nova Gorica, is based on the intellectual exchange of international and Slovenian teaching staff, researchers, and students in the humanities and social sciences. The program concentrates on three scientific areas (modules): Literary Studies, Migrations and Intercultural Relations, and History.  

Part of the module Migrations and Intercultural Relations is taught by the associate professors and members of our Institute: Jure Gombač PhD, Aleksej Kalc PhD, Marina Lukšič Hacin PhD, Mirjam Milharčič Hladnik PhD.
