The aim of the project is to analyse the labor and other types of migration from Slovenia to Austria in a long historical perspective from the late 19th century to the present. It aims at focusing on the continuities and changes in that long period in the light of the great historical breaks and changing political and socioeconomic contexts. The project intends to study the impact of migratory phenomena and spatial mobility of the population as a demographic and economic factor as well as a factor contributing to the formation of and influencing the social fabric and cultural features in the area under examination.
The goals of the project are: informing about archival and other sources for studying the migration issue on local, regional and national levels; joint and comparative research of selected topics; promotion of further cooperation in the field of historical migration study.
