Resources on the Move (RES-MOVE)

Description

RES-MOVE intends to explore the potential of coworking and other collaborative spaces as places for the inclusion of migrant people - inclusion to be pursued through:

  • appropriate paths of skill assessment and recognition, language learning, and vocational training;
  • dialogue and cooperation with local start uppers, coworkers, NGOs, and companies;
  • business planning and support to start-up.

The project will build also upon on the recent experiences gained by coworking spaces in offering free desks to Ukrainian refugees who fled from the country in the aftermath of the invasion.

This is indeed the general objective of the project and the specific contribution that RES-MOVE wants to make. Also, due to the transformations in the world of work, cities and urban mobility, as well as the accelerations caused by the pandemic - the “collaborative spaces” phenomenon (which includes not only coworking spaces but also fab-labs, maker spaces, coworking in public libraries and coffee-shops) is growing in quantitative terms and increasingly represents a very interesting scenario for the labour inclusion of qualified migrants – notably, four specific segments of the world of immigration, which are precisely the main target-groups of this project:

  • Freelancers;
  • Migrants with craft skills, e.g. in the repair of household appliances, furniture, bicycles and other 'smart mobility' vehicles;
  • Start-uppers;
  • Knowledge workers: researchers, teachers, trainers, cultural mediators, editors, translators, etc.
