Ivana Azhievska is employed as a research assistant at the Slovenian Migration Institute ZRC SAZU. Her work focuses on international and research projects addressing migration, migrant integration, refugee protection, highly skilled mobility, housing, inclusion, and participatory governance. She contributes to research activities, project implementation, reporting, stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and the preparation of research outputs and project deliverables.
Ivana Azhievska graduated with an LLB in Law from the Faculty of Law Iustinianus Primus, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia, in 2018. She completed an LLM in International Law and Relations and Law of the European Union at the same faculty in 2021 and began an LLM programme in International Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, in 2021.
During her studies, she was actively involved in research and practical projects at the Slovenian Migration Institute ZRC SAZU, focusing on brain drain, highly skilled migration, and mobility patterns in Europe. Since February 2024, she has been working as an assistant researcher at the institute on various national and international projects. She has also gained practical experience in the fields of human rights, refugee law, international law, and legal support for vulnerable groups.
